When you load your test file, you should see all the information about your PHP. If you see the code, then PHP is not active on your computers server, and may be configured wrong.
If PHP is working and you wish to change some of it's settings, you can do so by editing the php.ini file. Be sure to keep a backup of this file incase anything should happen to it, because it is needed by PHP.
