A Short URL

Have you ever went to send your friend a URL only to find it looks like this: http://www.somesite.com/this/that/34W3Q2/423F5B/234R23.php?color=red&size=small&url=reallylong. Well you could use one of the many short-url services but you'll probably have to deal with ads, or registration, or a link that only works for a few days. Another idea is to setup a short URL yourself using a simple PHP redirect.
