Making changes to your web site design can be very time consuming if you have a large website. Even small changes like adding new options to the menu or updating your copyright each year can take a lot of time because they are needed on every page. You can store all of this information separate from your page content, even without MySQL, so all instances can be updated simultaneously using SSI.
